Located on the eastern shores of Hong Kong Island, the residential neighbourhood of Taikoo Shing, an innovative drinking & dining establishment, F.I.G.S Bistro Mediterranean & Apéro Terrace Bar, with an indoor-outdoor setting premieres in Cityplaza, offering a parade of Mediterranean flavours to the neighbourhood’s residents and office workers.

The name of the concept works as an acronym, referencing the regions of France, Italy, Greece, and Spain, from which it derives the one-of-a-kind menu. Guests can expect to indulge in casual lunches, ‘liquid’ luxurious brunches, elevated afternoon teas, neighbourhood-friendly happy hours, and experiential dinners and suppers in the relaxed and appealing venue that is artfully created, designed and operated by the highly-esteemed Silver Oak Group – which operates other celebrated establishments including Quiero Más in Central and The Bayside in Kowloon.

A day-to-night dining experience

The new concept is helmed by Group Executives, Chef Gary Batra and Spanish-native, Chef Javier Perez. With over ten years’ experience in Western fine & casual dining venues across Australia & Hong Kong, Chef Gary now brings his signature panache and creative culinary stylings to F.I.G.S.’ unique menu. Chef Javier previously worked at acclaimed establishments across Spain and Hong Kong, including the One Michelin star Árbore de Veira and critically acclaimed FoFo by El Willy. Diners can expect an artfully-curated yet extensive menu, spanning from day to night, ranging from opulent French seafood stews and freshly-made Italian pastas, to Greek-style grilled meats and Spanish tapas and hearty mains.

On weekdays, regular offerings include lunch sets with tea or coffee to savour during your work break, followed by luxury afternoon tea sets to enjoy during a much needed respite in a stylish metropolitan dining spot in the epicentre of Quarry Bay’s business district. As the sun sets, indulge in F.I.G.S’s bound-to-be “happy” hour, featuring an exciting assortment of craft-cocktails, including its home-infused gin, blended by the legendary Vincent Chue before moving onto dinner with a choice of Chef’s tasting menus. The weekend offers a bountiful brunch in a relaxed family-friendly space.

Take a trip to the French Riviera and savor the art of gourmet dining with the peppered Tuna Tartare on home-baked macarons (HK$148), and the refreshingly-light Scallop Ceviche on Mango & Beetroot with Lemongrass-Vinaigrette (HK$148). Make a quick pit stop on the Sicilian coast with recipes taken from Nonna’s cookbook such as the decadent Crab Cannelloni (HK$158) and a selection of homemade pastas, including the Truffle Ricotta Ravioli (HK$158). Continue your journey through the scenic Greek coastline with the smoky Chicken Souvlaki (HK$228) and Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank in Thyme and Oregano (HK$328), which are served with a refreshing salad and dips. Complete the voyage on the shores of Spain, as you relish on Jamón Ibérico & Cheese Croquetas (HK$128) and Basque-style Grilled Octopus (HK$158). The Mediterranean feast comes to a sweet finale with the White Chocolate FIGS Tart (HK$98) and ever-so-popular crunchy Churros served with Gelato and Chocolate Dip (HK$88). Each dish is designed to satisfy your palate, complemented with an array of wines and creative cocktails available to complete the dining experience.

Vibrant interiors reflecting the colourful menu

The 6,000 sq ft space offers a comfortable upscale atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating available, making it an ideal destination for celebratory occasions or casual dining. Designed by the renowned design impresario himself – Hernan Zanghellini, each design detail of the restaurant pays homage to bespoke architectural elements popularised across the Mediterranean region. Classic terracotta and vibrant azure blues evoke idyllic sunset hues, with intricate sea-green tiles accenting the floors, and Venetian lighting decorating the exterior walls.

Dine indoors for a comfortable, tempered atmosphere in the cosy booths, or enjoy the fresh breeze on the atmospheric terrace. The indoor space seats up to 100 guests while the terrace offers a seating capacity from 80 and more, marking it a prime venue for celebrations and events of all sizes and for all seasons.
